From 12th to 14th of June, 2021, the 23rd “FLTRP. ETIC” Cup National English Debating Competition (National Final) was held in Beijing. Led by Shi Zehan from the Department of Chinese, the National 1st Prize winner in 2019, Siying Wu and Kuiyuan Gong, respectively from the Department of English and the Department of Finance, Shantou University, participated in this competition and successfully won the 1st Prize.

A week ago, Siying Wu and Kuiyuan Gong won the 1st place in the South China Regional of the competition, and successfully made it to the National Final. In the National Final, the STU team competed tightly with debaters from prestigious universities like Fudan University, Zhejiang University and Renmin University of China. With excellent performance, the STU debaters were awarded with the National 1st Prize.
