Introduction: Shantou University is a public Chinese university that receives additional support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, and it is aggressively internationalizing its program and expanding its English-medium course offerings. STU’s English Language Center provides English language instruction for all of the university’s students, and offers a pioneering program of language instruction that emphasizes not only practical language proficiency, but also critical thinking skills, intercultural competence, and sustainable independent language learning. The ELC seeks candidates to teach English skill courses at a variety of levels, from low intermediate to advanced, and to assist with the ELC’s rich program of co-curricular activities. ◆ Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor: Candidates for the positions should have a PhD/EdD degree in TEFL or a related subject area and relevant teaching experience. Preference is given to candidates who have experience in research, publication, curriculum development, materials development, teacher training, and/or leading teaching teams.
For all positions, preference will be given to candidates who have experience learning foreign languages and/or living in foreign cultures.
