Legal English I (LE1)

Focuses on solidifying students' foundational language skills while preparing them for more advanced legal English courses. This comprehensive course emphasizes advanced vocabulary and introduces a small amount of legal-related vocabulary through listening and reading comprehension exercises. It encourages students to express their opinions in both written and oral forms. The course uses controversial societal issues as a medium to expand language knowledge and develop critical thinking skills. By engaging with carefully selected reading and listening materials that showcase different perspectives on the same topic, students can form informed positions. Follow-up discussions and debates further develop their language skills and critical thinking abilities. Overall, LE1 aims to strengthen students' foundation in general academic English and prepare them for more specialized legal studies.
