Bruce, now an Associate Professor of English at the ELC, has been teaching English at STU since 1988. He teaches English courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His teaching philosophy is that teaching is learning and that teaching a person is far more important than teaching a language.
Bruce’s research interests include English teaching and learning, second language acquisition, teaching methodology, sociolinguistics, higher pedagogical management, critical thinking in language teaching, and cross-cultural research. He has published research papers in different academic journals.
In 2009, Bruce visited UC Berkeley in the United States with a group led by the STU Party Committee Secretary.
Bruce loves movies, music and sports. He especially enjoys playing basketball and doing Taiji in his spare time.
