Anna has seven years’ experience teaching English, Polish and Mandarin Chinese to non-native speakers at universities, language schools, private companiesand as a tutor in the UK, China and Poland.During her MA course in Teaching Chinese, Anna became interested in learners’ motivation and how it can be used to enhance language learning. She is a strong believer in empowering students and involving them in decision-making with regard to their learning, as much as feasible. Therefore, whenever possible, she utilises a process syllabus, with the use of a needs’ analysis questionnaire and regular feedback from her students. In her teaching, she uses a variety of different materials, including authentic texts. She also makes her own materials, depending on the students’ individual needs. Her interest in materials development led her to become a member of MATSDA Materials Development Association.
In her free time, Anna likes to watch comedy: TV shows and stand-up. To relax, she alsogoes to the gym and reads everything from online articles about personality, to philosophy, to popular science, to biographiesand plays,to any fiction that is immensely enjoyableor helps her grow as a person and a teacher.
